The Longmont American Legion Post 32 is seeking volunteers to place flags on veterans‘ graves on Saturday and will run their usual schedule of ceremonies on Monday for Memorial Day.
Those interested in helping to place American flags on graves should show up at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Civil War Memorial at Mountain View Cemetery, 62 11th Ave. Volunteers should bring their own screwdriver.
On Monday, the American Legion honor guard will commemorate those who have died in the armed services with presentations and ceremonies, starting at 9 a.m. at Stephen Day Park, 1340 Deerwood Drive. Then, they will have a ceremonies at 10 a.m. at Foothills Gardens of Memory, 14241 N. 107th St., and at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery.
They will finish at noon at the Legion Post, 315 S. Bowen St., to raise the flag from half-staff to full height.
