When I drove into my small cul-de-sac around 4 p.m. Friday, it looked like a lake. I parked my car on the next street. My neighbor said he called someone, but wasn‘t sure it was the right someone. I went in, calmed my dog, called the health department. Ever the drama queen, I said, we have six children on this cul-de-sac under the age of 5 and a pregnant woman. She said, I understand, and sent me to emergency. Emergency said, we got it.
Within the hour, a large utility truck pulled in, measured the flooded street and pulled out. The sheriff came, took pictures and left. The health department showed up … and the large utility truck came back. Two men with raincoats and boots worked on cleaning out the sewer until past 8 p.m. It finally began to drain. Thank you.
